It is the label owned by Indian fashion designers Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla. They met in 1986 and soon opened a boutique together named ‘Mata Hari’. The duo has been a success story since their very first collection, and the price starts from Tk. 34 thousand. Now they have stores all across India, with bridal wear being best showcased in Mumbai, India.
2) Manish Malhotra
The Indian fashion designer made a name for himself as the costume designer and stylist of various movies of Bollywood as well as Hollywood. He stepped into the world of fashion in 1998 with his glamorous collection of embroidered outfits, and started his couture label, in 2005. The apparels cost Tk. 4.6 lakhs and above, and currently he has outlets in Mumbai and New Delhi – India.
3) Prem’s Collections
The store was first opened in Gulshan 1, Dhaka, and after its overwhelming success, another outlet was opened in Chittagong in 2018. All dresses are traditional and expresses royalty and heritage, but are kept affordable with the price starting from Tk. 20 thousand.
4) Sahar Rahman Couture
Sahar Rahman, with love and encouragement from her husband, sister, and best friend, launched the clothing line a few years back and has become one of the best to provide women’s wear. The store is located in Gulshan 2, Dhaka, and you’ll find what you’re looking for Tk. 30 thousand and above.
5) Sarah Karim Couture
The fashionista’s grandmother-in-law used to work with artisans, teaching them about style and design. And when she passed away in 2008, Sarah took it upon herself to continue the legacy. The outlet can be found in Gulshan 1 with the starting price for bridal wear being Tk. 30 thousand.
6) Tarun Tahiliani
The Indian fashion designer had first co-founded Ensemble with his wife, Sailaja ‘Sal’ Tahiliani, in 1987, and then established Tahiliani Design Studio in 1990. He is best known for his ability to pervade modern aesthetic into traditional craftsmanship. The wardrobe costs about Tk. 2.8 lakhs and above, and can be found in Kolkata and New Delhi – India.
7) Vedam
The store, founded in 2011, is famous in Kolkata, India, for its team of very well-known designers and their plethora of ideas. You’ll find every new collection of bridal wear to be better than the previous one, with the price of sarees, lehengas and gowns starting from Tk. 23 thousand.
