What to do for your dad this Father’s Day

How many times have you wished you hadn’t forgotten about Father’s Day in the mix of work, life and everything in between?

The Prestige is here to give you ideas on how to be the son/daughter you’ve always wanted to be.

Doing something meaningful:

A picture on social media, or getting something on the way from work is always a nice gesture. But, sharing little experiences with our parents could mean a lot more to them than we could ever imagine.

This Father’s day, watch the late night show your father watches sitting next to him, take him out for dinner, make sure he gets his favorite food for all three meals of the day. The little things your parents would not expect from you in a million years can keep that smile on your father’s face in place throughout the day.

Thoughtful gifts:

To commemorate this Father’s day, a tangible thoughtful gift is a must so that your father has something to remember the day by. The secret to getting the perfect gift lies in sending a message. The gift either has to be something he really needs but is not getting for himself, to show him that you have noticed or something that shows off his persona.  It could be those expensive shoes that are very good for his aging feet that he’s shying away from buying, or a watch, pen or cuff lings that tell the world how you feel about him. It’s best if they come in his favorite color or brand.

If budgeting is an issue, you could always go for telling him everything that remains unspoken between the two of you. Now more than ever, it’s important to tell our parents how we really feel about them. A letter is perfect for wrapping up all the kind words, warm embraces and loving thoughts that seem to get lost in the hubbub of our lives.

The best way to get around this is writing your father a letter. A beautiful envelope of his choice consisting of the letter along with a hand-written note and a ribbon for beautification could really steal the show.

A letter to your parent, along with the perfect day, and the perfect gift could be your humble attempt at making your father feel as special as he has been making you feel all your life.

You. Yes, you.
