The off-beat philosophy behind Biskut and His Factory

HAPPY REVOLUTION

Inscribed above are the words typed into Biskut Factory’s instagram bio, the latest sensation in Dhaka’s art world, 5246 followers and thousands of smiles strong. The man behind the philosophy and art is Mr. Biskut Abir. He sits down with us to discuss exciting art forms, the story behind his service and anarchism.

Fusion Art

“There are no boundaries, only possibilities” – Biskut

Much like my life, my art has no bounds or limitations, says Biskut. Leaving school at a tender age, the artist has learnt everything he knows by gathering knowledge and reeling in positive vibrations from all the places he has been to, and everyone he has ever met. Starting off by painting phone covers for near and dear ones, Biskut now leads a team of ten. He shares his views on whatever he has understood so far, and what he understands every day with his team about the world through his art. Biskut Factory produces truly individualistic art for people, by combining different art-forms and collective popular culture.

Contrary to popular belief, Biskut’s art is not just restricted to sunglasses, phone covers, badges or bags. He is always waiting for new material to try his art on.

The fact that people seem to find joy in my art is my greatest accomplishment till date”, Biskut exclaims as he discusses his struggles with school, family and people in general.

He does not blame any group specifically, but hints towards social institutions at large failing the individualistic needs he had growing up. He claims to have finally set up something that he is personally content with and we wish him all the best!

THE ANARCHIST IN BISKUT

Biskut dreams of being completely free from the dominion of religion, personal wealth and authority. Believing we have everything in abundance but peace, he dreams of a place far away from here, somewhere on the outskirts of Dhaka. For himself, his wife, his son and anybody who dares to enter. He plans on naming it Shantigram.
