After the reports emerged on Thursday, there was a mixed reaction among fans of the DC extended universe. Majority of the fans were concerned because Pattinson is much younger than the actors that played the role of Batman in the past. The likes of George Clooney, Michael Keaton, Christian Bale and most recently Ben Affleck were cast in the role of Batman; whereas these actors are known for their sturdy looks and personalities but the audiences are yet to accept Robert Pattinson out of his Edward Cullen (Twilight) and Cedric Diggory (Harry Potter) persona.
A Little Birdie Told Us
Apart from Robert Pattinson, Mad max: Fury Road and X-Men: Days of Future Past star Nicholas Hoult is still being considered for filling in as the caped crusader for the new Batman film.
Though so far, Warner Bros. denied the report of Pattinson becoming the new Batman, according to sources and news online, the talks with the actor is now at an advanced stage for playing the masked vigilante.
However, there are a lot of audiences who are cheering for him unbiasedly for some of his performances in movies such as Good Time, Water for Elephants, The Rover and Remember Me. Though none of these films did extraordinarily good in the box office, but Pattinson’s acting got praise from critics across the world
It is also being reported that Matt Reeves who is known for his Planet of the Apes movies, will be bringing iconic rogue gallery characters like The Penguin and The Catwoman back to the silver screen.
Warner Bros. will release “The Batman” on June 25, 2021. Reeves has been graced with plenty of time to develop the script, so that the latest adaptation of this DC story doesn’t face the same fate as previous disappointments of “Batman v Superman” and “Justice League.”
