Now, what can we do to keep our children safe?
1) Keep them at home. Make sure family members going out for essential needs are maintaining a good hygiene if they are to interact with the children.
2) Teach them how to wash their hands properly. Make sure they touch their face (mouth, nose, and eyes) to a minimum.
3) Always make them wear a mask if they must leave the house. Teach them to use a tissue when they cough/sneeze.
4) Ensure new-born babies are exposed to as less people as possible. Wash your hands with a soap for 20 seconds before touching/feeding them.
5) Don’t take them outside of the house even if their time to get vaccinated is during the ongoing pandemic. They’ll be safer at home.
6) If they have underlying health conditions such as asthma, diabetes, and heart diseases, then stock up on medication and learn more about their condition to prevent any deterioration.
7) Their mental health is just as important as their physical health. So, try to keep them distracted from the crisis by spending time with them and having fun.
8) Help them learn a skill or two that they may be interested in and lessen their screen-time.
9) Wash their toys regularly to decrease the risk of being contaminated.
10) Don’t rush to hospitals if they can easily be helped via telemedicine.
Even though the immune system of children is comparatively weaker than adults, there aren’t many cases where children are infected, by the grace of The Almighty. Keep them clean, feed them balanced-diet, and make sure they are following all the precautions the way you must.
Stay home; Stay safe
