Luxury Brands Join Hands against the Pandemic

While the world is waking up to increasing cases of Covid-19, it also witnessing the unity with which the war is being fought. The luxury labels are seen to contribute in full force; and this just is a reminder that we are in this together. With the suspension of fashion weeks, the brands have diverted their resources in combatting the war against the virus.

 

 

ARMANI donates $14million to Hospitals & Health Organizations in Italy

The Italian luxury fashion brand which houses A|X Armani Exchange and Giorgio Armani Corporation, have donated fourteen million dollar to hospitals and health organizations in the heavily affected Italy.

      

Additionally Armani plans to send single use medical overalls to the front lines. These overalls will be produced in Armani’s factory itself. Armani plays its part by taking the responsibility of protecting the frontline warriors in their capacity.

 

 

Ralph Lauren Donates $10 million to Help Communities Affected by Covid-19

While some take responsibility for protecting the frontlines, Ralph Lauren diverts its funds towards the victims of Covid-19. It has set aside relief funds which will be channeled through means of providing financial grants via the Emergency Assistance Foundation for Ralph Lauren colleagues to deal with medical, eldercare or childcare needs.

  

The WHO will also be receiving funds as Solidarity Response Funds. Furthermore the donation will also be directed towards the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) / Vogue Fashion Fund for COVID-19 relief to support the American fashion community through the crisis.

 

 

Burberry extends many hands

The British luxury fashion house headquartered in London, England has gone all out in helping combat the Covid-19. It’s global supply chain network has been put to the work of fast-tracking the delivery of over 100,000 surgical masks to the UK National Health Service.

  

In addition to that Burberry takes on the responsibility of supporting the community by donating to charities including FareShare and The Felix Project, which aim to tackle food poverty in the UK. Its funds further extend to funding the research of a single-dose vaccine developed by the University of Oxford that is on course to begin human trials next month. The university has one of the world’s best track records in emergency vaccine development, with past success in fighting Ebola and MERS.

The fashion house has also decided to retool its iconic trench coat factory to manufacture surgical masks and medical gowns.

 

 

Bvlgari Produces 100,000 Bottles of Hand Gel

The brand gave an instagram post “Hand in Hand with Italy”. In partnership with the ICR, Bvlgari pledged to continue the production of sanitizers as long as the situation demands. The brand further went on to acknowledge the risks and efforts of the frontlines’ and extend their support towards them.

 

 

Prada Makes 80,000 Medical Overalls & 110,000 Face Masks

The Prada Factory in Montone is solely being used for the purpose of producing masks and medical overalls. In the midst of overflowing pandemic cases leading to the shortage of resources Prada has committed to provide 80,000 medical overalls and 110, 00 face masks.

 

 

Gucci Calls for Crowd funding

    

In addition to a donation of two million euros, Gucci launched two crowd fund raising campaigns in response to the deadly pandemic. Half of the donation was channeled to the national Civil Protection department in Italy, in partnership with Intesa Sanpaolo. The other half of the funds were directed towards supporting the Covid-19 Solidarity Response Fund in support of the World Health Organization.
