Walking us through her journey so far, Eza Chowdhury answers questions about yoga philosophy, misconceptions surrounding yoga and her very own Samadi Yoga Studio.
How it all came together for Eza
After going off to college and university in Canada at the age of 17, Eza went on to become a financial planner for CIBC and HSBC. (Both located in Canada) While being responsible for managing high value clients’ financials for over 10 years and living her dream, she lost her father and went through a divorce. Eza admits that throughout this time, the only thing keeping her whole was the yoga mat. So came the moment to close the old journal and inscribe it fresh with newest intentions, which led her to starting Samadi Yoga in Dhaka.
Laughing out loud about Yoga Myths:
From yoga being associated with everything starting from hippie beads to living in forests, there are scores of myths floating around and Eza defies them all.
“Yoga is within you, it doesn’t need to be broadcasted” says Eza when asked if she’s vegan, or if she is always in a meditative state and if she socializes proactively like the rest of us. Clad in a chick looking white kameez, she told us about how she believes in going as close to perfect balance as possible.
“A lot of my friends think I am on some crazy diet when I am out with them, it’s nothing like that” – she confesses to eating a full-blown Bangladeshi bhaat-bhorta-daal diet before stepping out of the house.
Although claiming to be in love with her Yoga pants, she does acknowledge her love for her wardrobe that does not just house yoga clothes, contrary to popular belief.
The Samadi Yoga Studio provides harmonious and interactive yoga sessions that help you learn to stretch right, calm your mind and tone your body.
“We are aiming for a one-stop solution for all kinds of yoga where everyone can feel comfortable and find yoga that is best suited to their needs” says Eza Chowdhury.
Special attractions include guest yoga instructors flying in from different parts of the world and multiple teachers teaching different yoga disciplines under one roof.
