Top Fantasy Premier League scorer from Bangladesh

The Prestige asked Brendan Atkinson, IBA alumni and CEO of local company Psionic Digital about the whooping 2491 points his fantasy football team, “Give me the Juice” made, making him the highest scoring player in Bangladesh and landing a fellow Bangladeshi at 358th position among the 4 million fantasy premier league players currently around the world.

FPL is the official fantasy football site for the largest football league in the world, the English Premier League.

Fantasy football lets fans act as managers for their fantasy teams where they select actual players from different clubs. The players you select score points for your imaginary club in accordance to how they perform in real life.

Here’s what Mr. Atkinson had to say:

1) What year did you start playing and did you plan on this to happen?

I started playing midway through the 2011-2012 season after a friend of mine who had regularly been playing for many years almost forced me to. And after that my close circle of friends all started playing and we’ve been hooked ever since.

I didn’t, really. The only thing I was focused on was winning my mini league, which is very competitive.

2) Did the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) get in touch with you in any way except for the Facebook post?

Nothing else, really. They made a post congratulating me from their official Facebook page. The comments on the post were pretty annoying because people on the thread were questioning if I was a Bangladeshi national.

With the Champions League finals airing in a few hours, and in the spirit of competition, we wish Brendan the very best for the upcoming season.

You. Yes, you.
