Empowering Women’s Entrepreneurship and Leadership

Twelve individuals and three organizations, a total of 15 Bangladeshis were awarded on the occasion of the first-anniversary celebration of the Women’s Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WICCI). The award included Twelve people and three organizations, which took place at the Le Meridien Hotel Dhaka on Tuesday.

The event was sponsored by Summit Group (Platinum Sponsor), Amra Romoni, Amishee, Organikare, Seven Rings Cement, Monash College UCB, Jamuna TV (Bronze Sponsors).

On this glorious occasion, Former Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith was honored as the “Legendary Leader of the Decade,” while Niloufer Manzur was honored as the Woman of the Decade: Social Development – Education. In addition, Dr. Firdausi Qadri received an award for Iconic Woman Creating a Better World for All, and Humaira Azam, Tamara Hasan Abed, and Jaya Ahsan received awards for Exceptional Women of Excellence.

The awards were given to Dr. Senjuti Saha in science, Fadiah Khan in ICT, Sabangee in Fashion and Craft, Maimuna Ahmad, Nasima AKter Nisha, and Sarah Kamal in the Young Innovators category.
SME Foundation received the award for access to finance, RedX received the award for delivery systems, and Sajida Foundation received the award for healthcare services, all for their contributions to Covid-19 management during the pandemic.

The Bangladesh-India Business Council, led by Mantasha Ahmed, president of the council, was established in August 2020 to represent WICCI in Bangladesh.

Rubaba Dowla, Sonia Bashir Kabir, Farzana Chowdhury, and Kanakchanpa Chakma are among the council’s 23 members and four advisers.
The council’s members and advisers are all prominent businesswomen and corporate figures in the country.

WICCI is one of the largest women’s networks, with 250,000 members and inspiring women from 120 countries. It is one of the largest women’s networks, with the broadest reach for global connections empowering women’s entrepreneurship and leadership.


WICCI works to change government policies, laws, incentives, and entrepreneurial ecosystems in order to encourage and empower women in business, industry, and commerce in all sectors and fields.
The Women Economic Forum was the driving force behind the WICCI Awards (WEF).
Last February, the Bangladesh-India Business Council hosted the “Asian Women Entrepreneurs’ Summit 2020,” at which Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, Speaker of the Bangladesh Parliament, and Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni received WICCI’s highest awards.
